Weeebytes, a leading entity in IT asset management and support services, is in search of a talented and committed Hardware Technician to join our dynamic team. Your role will be crucial in upholding our commitments to data security, environmental responsibility, and delivering top-notch IT solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

Software and Hardware Solution Development

• Assess software and hardware needs to devise bespoke solutions for various challenges.
• Participate in computer refurbishment and remarketing initiatives, upgrading previously used systems into sustainable alternatives.

Client Inquiry Response and Support

• Quickly address and solve enquiries related to refurbished IT hardware and software issues, offering expert advice and solutions.
• Provide robust support during the decommissioning of data centres and servers, ensuring a secure and efficient transition.

Software Installation, Downloading, and Optimisation

• Manage the installation, configuration, updating, and downloading of software applications, ensuring optimal performance and alignment with user needs.
• Ensure efficient utilisation of selected software applications and IT equipment to deliver enhanced functionality and performance.

Network Design and Maintenance

• Supervise the design, implementation, and maintenance of computer networks, boosting connectivity and overall system efficiency.
• Develop and sustain the company’s website, ensuring it is user-friendly, current, and accurately represents Weeebytes.

Equipment Maintenance and Replacement

• Handle the repair and replacement of peripheral equipment pertaining to refurbished IT solutions including user terminals, multifunction printers, and modems to reduce downtime and operational disruptions.
• Engage in IT asset management, participating in collection services for outdated or surplus equipment, and providing tailored, client-focused solutions.

Environmental Responsibility and Data Security

• Contribute to the recycling processes of computer, IT equipment, and components, ensuring maximum resource recovery and minimal environmental impact.
• Oversee secure data destruction services, guaranteeing thorough data eradication under stringent security protocols.
• Manage the recycling of mobile phones and tablets, ensuring all data is securely wiped to prevent potential data breaches.

Hardware Inventory Management

• Maintain an accurate and up-to-date inventory of all hardware assets, ensuring accountability and readiness for deployment.
• Implement and oversee processes for tracking the location, status, and condition of hardware assets stored in Weeebytes hardware inventory.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Proven experience in a Hardware Technician role or similar.
• Extensive knowledge of computer hardware, software, and networks.
• Exceptional support and troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Able to work independently, proactively, and in a team environment.
• Experience in website design and maintenance is highly regarded.
